Ama Dablam
Project type
Ama Dablam expedition
Date
May 2025
Location
Himalayas
In 2025, I climbed Ama Dablam — one of the most iconic and technical peaks in the Himalayas at 6,812 meters. Often called the “Matterhorn of Nepal,” Ama Dablam demands precision, discipline, and confidence on exposed terrain. It’s a climb where every section — from the Yellow Tower to the Mushroom Ridge — tests both physical strength and mental clarity.
The expedition combined high-altitude endurance with real alpine skill: fixed lines, mixed climbing, vertical rock sections at altitude, and long days moving on ridges surrounded by thousands of meters of exposure. Living and acclimatizing between Camps 1, 2, and 3 pushed me into a new realm of high-altitude performance.
Reaching the summit, surrounded by the giants of the Khumbu — Everest, Lhotse, Makalu — was a defining moment in my mountaineering journey. Ama Dablam proved that I could operate safely and efficiently on one of the Himalaya’s most technical 6,000ers, and it became a crucial stepping stone toward the bigger objectives that now shape Absolute Ascent.
