Island peak 2019

My first major Himalayan expedition began with Island Peak, a 6,189-meter summit standing deep in the heart of the Khumbu Valley. At 19 years old, I stepped into high-altitude mountaineering for the first time — learning what it means to move, breathe, and push at an altitude where every step demands intention.

The ascent combined glacier travel, fixed-line climbing, and a technical summit ridge that exposed me to real Himalayan conditions: thin air, cold nights, and the mental discipline required above 6,000 meters. It was the expedition that sparked everything that followed.
Island Peak wasn’t just my first summit — it was the moment I realized I wanted to build a life around mountains, endurance, and pushing beyond what I thought was possible.
