Mount Ararat

In 2024, I summited Mount Ararat, the highest peak in Türkiye at 5,137 meters. Ararat is a solitary giant — a volcanic mountain rising abruptly from the surrounding plains — and its long, exposed slopes demand steady pacing, mental focus, and strong altitude adaptation.

The climb combined glacier travel, high winds, and a long summit push that required discipline and efficient movement on crampons. Standing on the summit, above the drifting cloud layers and endless horizon, marked another key step in my progression toward higher-altitude objectives.
Ararat solidified my confidence in multi-day acclimatization climbs and prepared me for more demanding Himalayan peaks that followed.
